For those patients in need of cataract surgery, we co-manage these procedures with a number of area specialty surgeons.  As a patient in our office, we will be able to determine the degree of vision lost due to cataracts and what is the best way for you to retain the vision using various intra-ocular lenses.  Our Doctors will discuss with you the advantages of each type of correction so that you will be completely satisfied with the outcome.  The most common approach is using a lens inserted in your eye that will correct you for best distance vision in each eye.  You will still need to wear reading glasses when doing close work.

A newer approach is using a multifocal IOL that will enable you to see clearly at all distances without the use of spectacle correction. See the video below explaning one type of multifocal lens.
